With over a decade of experience in the numismatic industry, Matt has built a reputation as a knowledgeable and trusted expert, catering to clients ranging from enthusiastic beginners to seasoned collectors managing multi-million dollar portfolios. His career began at Australia Post’s Philatelic Bureau, where he first discovered the passion and dedication behind stamp and coin collecting. It wasn’t long before he, too, became an avid collector.

Matt’s expertise deepened when he transitioned into numismatics, joining Downies Coins and Collectables. There, he worked closely with VIP clients, developing an in-depth understanding of the market and the intricacies of what drives collectors. Seeking to broaden his experience, he relocated to Sydney, where he spent three years managing Town Hall Coins. During this time, he honed his skills in coin authentication, historical analysis, valuations, and market trends.

Returning to Melbourne, Matt took on the role of Senior Numismatist and Manager at Downies' flagship store, further solidifying his standing in the industry. Following the store’s closure, he turned his attention to organizing Australian Numismatic Dealers Association (ANDA) shows, ensuring their continued success.

A familiar voice and face in the numismatic community, Matt has made numerous appearances on national radio and television, sharing his expertise with collectors and the general public alike. His deep knowledge, engaging presentation style, and ability to demystify the world of numismatics have made him a sought-after commentator in the field.

Most recently, Matt has brought his passion directly to the community by opening his own shop. On May 18, 2024, he launched his store in Boronia Mall, providing collectors with expert advice, rare finds, and a welcoming space to share in the love of numismatics, offering collectors an opportunity to engage with a true authority in the field.
